MoonPay has strategically acquired crypto payments startup Meso, marking its fourth acquisition in 2025. The deal accelerates MoonPay's vision for a unified global payments infrastructure bridging traditional finance and blockchain ecosystems.

Meso's founding team—Ali Aghareza and Ben Mills—brings PayPal and Venmo expertise to MoonPay's leadership. Aghareza assumes the CTO role while Mills becomes SVP of Product, signaling MoonPay's commitment to technical innovation in regulated crypto payments.

The acquisition enhances MoonPay's capabilities in U.S. banking integrations and developer tools. 'This creates rails connecting banks, cards and blockchains under one compliant framework,' said CEO Ivan Soto-Wright, positioning MoonPay as a transatlantic payments leader.
